The aftermath
Okay, so the party is over and here is a brief report.
Sales Nite 2004 (Tropical Nite Theme)
Time: 7.00pm - 11.30pm
Date: 11th Dec 2004
Venue: E&O Hotel, Farquhar function room.
10:30am - Supposed to meet up with fellow committee at 10am but I went abit late coz I needed to pay some fees at ITD. So I arrived at 10.30am.
10:30am - 2pm - We packed up all the door gifts and arranged the lucky draws. Total attendance expected is 72 pax.
2.30pm - Had lunch with committee in E&O. All had tiffin set lunch. Each set cost RM 19.00. I told Chairman we should eat here and use up the extra money...haha!
6:30pm - I told Chairman, "Hey, they didnt make the backdrop for you." Chairman then went to see the person in charge to put up the backdrop. The crowd started turning up at the function half and hour early. Time stated was 7pm. That should be a good start... no?
6:45pm - Almost 90% of the guests have arrived.
6.50pm - Hotel staff came with projector to project the backdrop to the white board in the function room. I told Chairman to forget it cos the band had set up their equipment so God knows how they gonna project the backdrop and Chairman prompty shooed them away. Apparently, the hotel staff had forgotten to make the backdrop!
7:15pm - 15 minutes late. Chairman gave a very very very short speech. Kinda like 2 sentence speech and then promptly invited the Sales Boss to give his. As usual, Sales Boss talked abit about business for 2004 and then showed signs of worry for 2005 in his speech. Then came his cock and bull story which we have heard a thousand and one times. Customer expects 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 but we must give 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. The usual sales bull. One word to describe...LAME.
7:30pm - 2 Japanese ladies sang 3 Christmas songs and 3 Disney songs. Pretty good singers. 1 of the Japanese lady is the Japanese Sales Manager's wife and the other Japanese lady's husband works in Matsushita.
8:15pm - Buffet dinner kicked off.
9:00pm - 10:30pm - Some games and lucky draws. Boring boring. I kept myself busy taking videos on the guest and colleagues. I got the 4th lucky draw prize. There were about 50 over prizes. Sales Boss passed it to me and said it's a Diamond Water Purifier or something like that. I was dissapointed I didnt get the 1st prize - a mini LG home theatre system.
3 or 4 guys got drunk. One got so drunk he couldnt even walk properly. Another got so pissed and I offered to drive him home but he insisted he can drive so God bless him and hope he reached home safely.
