Look mom! No helmets

Armed with a digicam almost everywhere I go now, I spotted 3 bikes with a pillion rider each without helmets in Greenland - in one of the busiest roads in Penang. What struck me was how these guys have no regards for the law whatsoever. None of them wore a helmet and they were riding their bikes dangerously endangering the lives of other motorists. They can break their heads and die for all I care.

2 bikes, the other one is blocked by the bike on the left.

That's the other bike on the right. See how this bike is in the middle of the lane? This ain't no motorcycle lane so I just followed them from behind. We are the King of the road or today is a good day to die, they seemed to be thinking.

On another note, I will leave for HK tomorrow and I searched through some of the foreign currencies I have. Managed to find more or less HKD900.

I got some Thai Baht, some Sing Dollars, US Dollars, a couple hundreds of Euros, HK Dollars, some Chinese Renminbis and plenty of coins from Swiss Francs to the now defunct French Francs.

greenland? you mean green lane?

one of the guys looks like he is wearing a turban (or songkok?). if i'm not wrong, those who wear turbans, are exempted from wearing helmets.

well some bikers sure have disregard for rules and safety. i seldom see bikers without helmets but i see 3 persons on a bike many times... of coures the 3rd person is a baby or child. very dangerous.

and ahhh!! ya i am very irritated at bikers who ride in the middle of a lane too. i travel daily to and fro work in my sister's car and both my sister and i always feel so geram at the bikers who hog the entire lane when they ride right in the centre.

That should be the Friday prayer time, right?
Well, just so you know, bodies become invulnerable right after prayer.
Just like "Divine Shield" in Warcraft™, but last longer.... err... my guess is roughly around 30 minutes.
You see riders without helmets, I see pedestrians crossing the roads with their eyes closed.

GUBz, u've seen ppl crossing with eyes closed ? I bet they are not Chinese/Indians (so u know who they are), coz I've lots of them who crossed the roads with their butts facing oncoming cars! Oh...perhaps it's b'coz they never study Moral (we learned how to cross the road in Moral lessons right?

maybe they were given special permission to do that on fridays to/from the mosque..but i could be horribly wrong on that point and they're just risking their lives for no reason

GUB² - Havent seen pedestrians crossing the road with their eyes closed yet. A typical way of crossing is with one arm raised and their hand showing the stop sign as if exerting some kind of super hero power that will make the on coming vehicles stop for them. Whether the vechicles stop of not is another story all together.

Joez - No lah... where got study how to cross the road in moral? u sure or not?

lynnee - there are soooooo many around. will not make any difference if they die.

Dr Letti - I am not sure if they have special permission to ride w/o helmets but i know if one wears a turban like lucia mentioned, then it's allowed. Anyone knows?

Greetings to all from the feel it, sense it, taste it - city of live, Hong Kong.
