Strict Muslim
We had a visit by a customer from South America Africa today. He is a very religious and strict Muslim. He reached our office with his agent who is a Thai at 11 in the morning.
As usual, we started with the introduction ... blah blah blah... the usual stuff and then he wanted to go to the Mosque to pray. Okay, no problem. We arranged to sent him off to the mosque at half past 12. But before he left, he excused himself to use the washroom and he took a full 15 minutes to clean himself before going for his prayers. Now, tell me that is not a long time.
I was told he has no tv in his house, no radio... practically nothing for entertainment cos it is haram. For us, after a hard days work the least we could do at home is to relax and loosen up - lying down on the sofa and enjoy a good tv program. Imagine no tv at home in this age and time. I could not help myself from asking him what he does after work at home. His reply was just chit chatting with his wife, children and catching up on what they have done today in school..etc. He said spending time with the family, making sure everyone is okay and catching up on what everyone's been up to for the day should be the top priority. Well, he has his point.
Then the funny part was when we were ready to go for lunch. He scolded his agent cos he didn't allow a man to sit beside his wife in the car. Lol! His poor agent had to join our car instead. Why? Cos it's haram for another man to sit beside his wife, maybe his thigh would accidentally rubbed against hers?!?!??
Well, we have so many kinds of people with different cultures, religions, beliefs from other countries all around the world. It is interesting to see how these people behave and how they live their life back home.
And by the way, we had to wait from 12:30 till 2:30pm before he finished his prayers in the mosque in Seberang Jaya. I had to wait until my stomach also "ki li ku lu". Anyway, nevermind cos it's Friday already!

15 mins in the washroom? maybe he took a shower? 5 min. shower and 5 min to dry himself (just exposing to air) and 5 mins of the undress/dress part (for the shower lah).
ayoh ks, people busy praying, so holy but you keep thinking of makan makan only... er... your stomach keep thinking. :)
KS BEWARE THOSE FROM SOUTH AFRICA COULD BE THE 419 BLACK MONEY CON MAN ON PRETEX TO BE "BUSINESS" MAN FROM AFRICA?

Lucia Lai - Hah! You don't know what the sales people have to go through sometimes. We had couple of customers from Iran and they don't want to eat lunch. I told my colleague, "They don't want to eat but we still have to eat right?" So we cabut for lunch and left them in the office.
