Entertainment for the deities?

Singing troupe with ladies dressed in sexy outfits performing on stage. More entertainment for the crowd rather than for the deities.

Food consisting of cooking oil, 3-in-1 coffee, bee hoon, instant noodles, rice, biscuits and crackers donated by devotees which will go to a welfare home.

I never quite understood the rationale of "entertainment for the deities"...its so funny to see the girls on stage with skimpy dresses...do you think the deities would like them??

I felt the same way too whenever I attend the festive celebrations at the temples.

On the contrary, I discovered that the deities actually requested for a performance for the public. It is not mainly for them.

True or not? Haha. I guess it kinda makes sense, since we always have to wait for about three hours before proceeding to the last prayer at midnight.

whether it is entertainment for the deity or the public, i still don't understand why the girls would like to dress skimpily and sexily. it's disgraceful. call me old fashioned if you like, but i think it is disgraceful and shameful to parade like this for everyone to gawk at.

well, ok, it's them, not me, so let them be. as they like i suppose.
