Spotted in San Fran

I spotted this guy in the black t-shirt in front of the ferry terminal at The Embarcadero Street in San Francisco. The sign written on the card board below reads "Need money for alcohol research."

I wonder how much booze he got at the end of the day.

Food for the week

Ham and pocket pizza in the freezer and jelly, a pack of lettuce and starbucks latte below. Half dozen of mineral water, a loaf of bread, instant noodles, a big bag of chips, koko crunch, milk and a bottle of fruit juice.

My studio

During my stay in Cali, I put up in a nice cozy studio apartment that has a kitchen with a microwave, a regular sized fridge and hotplates for cooking those yummy instant noodles. That place is even equipped with an oven. Like they know my favourite past time when I travel for business is baking cakes...

It's picture time

It's time for some pics and to kick things off, I am showing you my rental car. This is my ride in the States. A mid-sized Toyota Corolla or what we call Toyota Altis here.

Oh wait a minute! 993 and 994 and both rental cars were parked side by side at the hotel. The other car was rented by another colleague who arrived San Jose earlier that day.

Don't you think my rental is way much nicer than his??? :X
Stay tuned as I update with more pics shortly. Peace!

Lazy Sunday

I got up at 7:30am today and had breakfast with an ex-colleague just to get some updates on what's been happening in the old work place. Ya, I know 7:30 is too damn early to get up on a Sunday morning.

After a bit of "kaypo-ing", I rushed to the gym for a mild workout. Don't wanna over work those muscles after a whole week of pigging on fatty American food.

Now I am just hanging at home sipping chinese tea, watching some tv, wasting some time and hoping tomorrow will not be a bad start to the long work week.

It's gonna be a buzy week. No doubt about that. Crunching numbers, playing with raw data of more than 10,000 rows in excel, making calls to Korea, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and China and also file my travel and food claims to Finance.

Speeding in California

The picture below shows this blogger speeding across the state of California on Highway 101. Speed limit is 65 miles per hour but this blogger was going at over 70 miles an hour in a rental car.

Driving on the right side of the road felt odd... and in case you are wondering, no, I did not crash the car.

SFO

If you're going to San Francisco
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair
If you’re going to San Francisco
You're gonna meet some gentle people there
For those who come to San Francisco
Summertime will be a love-in there
In the streets of San Francisco
Gentle people with flowers in their hair
All across the nation,
Such a strange vibration
People in motion
There's a whole generation,
With a new explanation
People in motion, people in motion
For those who come to San Francisco
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair
If you come to San Francisco
Summertime will be a love-in there
If you come to San Francisco
Summertime will be a love-in there

5EXX994

The title of this entry is my rented car's license plate. Nice eh? Looks like SEXX994, doesn't it? It's an automatic transmission Toyota Corolla or Altis in Malaysia. Man, it sure feels weird to be driving on the right side of the road with the steering wheel on the left side of the dash. Took me one spin around the office neighbourhood to get used to it.

So this wednesday and weekend, go buy Magnum 4D, Damacai and Toto. The lucky number is 5994.

California

I am now in the Arnold Schwarzenegger state of USA, California. I arrived San Francisco after a 5 hour lay over at the Chiang Kai Shek (CKS) International Airport in Taipei. I am now in the Bay Area of San Jose aka Silicon Valley.

The temperature is now a cooling 10 to 15 celsius.

The office here had booked a rental car for me and I think I would be getting a Toyota Corolla tomorrow when I get in. The campus is about 5 minutes drive from my hotel. Now all I need is to re-learn how to drive on the right side of the streets here where everything about driving is the opposite! Hope I can return back the car in the same condition without any scratch.

P/S: I am missing my wife already!!! =)

On the move again

I am flying again... the last time I travelled was in June, 4-5 months ago. It's that time again.
