Malaysia's opposition leader, Lim Kit Siang, has started his own blog. Perhaps, we should invite him to the next blog meet?

Erti Merdeka

Jom mari kita sama-sama enjoy lagi Sudirman. Klic sini. Apa perasaan setelah menghayati lagu Sudirman yang belum lagi saya dengar di radio tahun ini?

Special Merdeka post

This year's Merdeka Day is probably a little bit special for the online communities in Malaysia, specifically for bloggers. A special online project called The Merdeka Blogger Project has been erected attempting to capture the spiritual meaning of Merdeka Day online via blogging. This project is reported in The Star newspaper today.

Another creative way suggested by one prominent blogger is to post in our national language for a day. Well, I have to admit that my written Bahasa Malaysia is as bad my England. But just for the record, I did pass my Bahasa Malaysia in SPM and managed a Grade 1. Most students didn't do so well to get at least secure a C6 (credit). A P7 or P8 is gonna cost you your Grade 1 even with straight As in the other 8 or 9 or 10 subjects. Anyway, that was just one of the pre-requisites during my SPM days. Let's leave this SPM thingy for another day.

I remember when I was a kid, I would try to get up early just to see the Merdeka parade in Dataran Merdeka broadcasted live from RTM. This is probably the most patrotic act a kid can do! Lol!

Now as a 20-something year old dude, apart from the stories which I heard from my parents, school teachers and some tv and print advertisements and reports, I have to say that is about all I know about the spirit of Merdeka. There is simply much more than being independence from the British rule.

I think come 31st August probably all school going kids even some adults are only looking forward to the additional one day holiday!

Logged on to msn and saw muh big name on msn asking me to message the initiator. Was coerced by the initiator cum organiser to attend coz she was paiseh that nobody's gonna turn up. What was I supposed to do? No choice lah, have to "eng siew" lah.

Read what the others who attended have to say about this meet. With pics too but too bad some pics have been mosaic so they look like as if they are from some crappy japanese av movie!!!

Mars

If you are interested in a little astronomy then look up the sky on 27th Aug 2005 (Saturday) around midnight. Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky
starting August.

It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye when Mars comes within 34.65 million miles from earth.

Be sure to watch the sky on Aug 27 2005, at 12:30 am. It will look like the
earth has 2 moons. The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287.

So make sure you gaze upon the stars next Saturday for NO ONE ALIVE TODAY will ever see it again.

Reality bites, really

What do you call it when somebody blogs about something you blogged about? Hmmm... confused? Duh~ neverrrrrrrrrmind.

Nobody wanna come here anymore... I had to do it. So sorry Negaraku... I had to disable auto start due to complains from some "neighbours" saying you are noisy, taking too long to load (I always thought this one is a compliment), sakit mata after looking at you, sakit telinga after listening to you, people are sick of you... the truth hurts and reality bites, really. People don't like Negaraku.

How about if I play the Penang State Anthem, Untuk Negeri Kita??? :)

Selamat Tuhan kurniakan
Selamat Pulau Pinang
Negeri ku yang mulia
Ku taat dan setia
Aman dan bahagia
Majulah jayalah
Negeri ku yang ku cinta
Bersatu dan bersama
Untuk negeri kita

So how? Telinga dan mata sakit lagi?

Don't jump to conclusion

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
You think it is a frog and I think it is a horse! Which is it?

Bottomline is we have to respect other's opinions, you can see it clearly in the above picture. We just need to wait and listen actively to others.

In the real life, however, this rarely happen. In the real world, either the frog will jump to conclusion or the horse will leap to conclusion. It's hard to prevent both from jumping or leaping into their own "concussions".

Merdeka

Everybody please stand up for the national anthem midi. Ahhhhh...it's that month of the year again when almost everyone sardenly seem to be patriotic for one month by flying the jalur gemilang on their windows, cars, bikes, bicycles and what not.... Well, this Merdeka I wanna be different. I am flying the jalur gemilang in my blog. Yay!!!

Malaysia is only 47 48 years young. Errr... hey history is not my cup of tea and I never passed history in school, kay??? Anyway, let's all appreciate our motherland and be proud to be Malaysian! What r u waiting for? So c'mon ... all Malaysian bloggers where ever you are. Join me and fly our jalur gemilang on your blogs for one month.

And if you dunno the lyrics to your own national anthem... tsk tsk tsk... shame on you... now sing along!!!

Negaraku
Tanah Tumpahnya Darahku
Rakyat Hidup
Bersatu dan Maju

Rahmat Bahagia
Tuhan Kurniakan
Raja kita
Selamat Bertakhta

Rahmat Bahagia
Tuhan Kurniakan
Raja kita
Selamat Bertakhta

Now, why are you laffing at your own national anthem??? What's so farnie? You don't see Americans laffing when Star Spangled Banner is played, do u???

Oh, say can you see,
By the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed
At the twilight's last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars,
Thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched
Were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets red glare,
The bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night
That our flag was still there.
O, say, does that
Star-Spangled Banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free
And the home of the brave?

sardenly, laffing, farnie - spelling kena influenced by reading too much of rojaks.blogspot. See, sum more u say I don't lead your bolok!
