Got this in my inbox a couple of days ago... Try it!

Re: How smart is your right foot?
This is so funny that it will boggle your mind. And, you will keep trying at least 50 more times to see if you can outsmart your foot, but you can't.

While sitting at your desk, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles. Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your right hand. Your foot will change direction .... ;)

Today is the most significant day of the month for me. The 27th day of each month is the day I look forward to the most. This day is super important. Every month on the 27th day, everybody in the office will be in relatively good mood. Why? Becos it's pay day. Not that I have a great salary to shout about but getting my hard earned salary at the end of the month is probably the only thing that motivates me to get my ass up and go to work every single morning.

Sunday, September 26, 2004

Darn! It's Sunday already? Gosh, I have missed out the entire weekend and missed enjoying myself this weekend. Just staying at home too is enjoyable, isn't it? At least for me. I have missed this weekend due to Saturday was a working day and classes on Saturday and today.

The next 2 weeks is gonna be busy in the office as my immediate boss is now in Japan and he will be there for the next 2 weeks.... for training wor.... Lucky bastard. In addition, we will be having some customers coming over from the States and also from Dubai so it's gonna be lotsa work and lotsa time to spend entertaining and clowning around the customers. Hope they will be nice to me... ;P

I was exceptionally tired today. Had to wake up early to go to work. Left office at 1pm and rushed to have lunch before rushing again to attend lecture from 2:30pm to 7pm! It's been a month since the last Finance lecture. Tomorrow's gonna be tough. Lecture will start at 9am till 5. Sometimes, I don't know why I have to pay to endure this torture/lecture!?

Good news! I also learnt that my new apartment has finally got the OC approved.

Nothing much to bitch about today so I will just post an email I received a couple of days ago. It's a review on Gen-2, u know, the latest line up in Proton's models.

Gen-erally very bad
Just how badly do you want a brand-new car? What are you prepared to sacrifice to ensure brand-spanking newness; that untouched, gleaming, never-been-driven feeling?

If you want a new car desperately – make that pathologically desperately – we would still struggle to recommend a Gen2, Proton’s new Wira replacement. It’s that disappointing.

It has its good points, so let’s get those out of the way first. It won’t take long. And if you happen to be hell-bent on buying a brand-new car and a nearly new Focus won’t do, these are the only points you’ll remember anyway....

To read more.... go to Gen-erally very bad

I have brought up to the attention of an MP an issue about my backlane longkang not being fixed after JKR "korek" and left their shit more than 3 years ago. Today, I am still pursuing this minor matter with the MP. You can see my complain here posted on 29th Jan 2001.

After more than 3 years, the drain is still not fixed and I am getting empty promises after empty promises. I even corresponded many emails to the Deputy Minister (yea, the MP is also a Deputy Minister) but it's all talk only so far.

After more than 3 years, you can see grass have also grown lah!

Can't fixed a drain with so called e-service centre.

His rep said the person in charge of JKR just came back from India. He was there for one month so nobody else can do the job.

2 weeks have passed since the person in charged is back and no actions still.

Tired after work. I snapped a few pictures of sunset on the way home.

Sunset in Mt Erskine.

Mt Erskine is the famous chinese cemetery in Penang.

There was no electricity in my housing area about 1 hour ago. My family and I went out for dinner and found there was no electricity when we got home at 8pm. Power was restored at 8:30pm so it was not too bad. We had a generator running for about 20 minutes while our neighbours were in the dark...literally. I am sure they were envy about us...heh.. we were the only one house in the whole neighbourhood that got power!

The generator used to restore "life" back to the house...

Meantime, here are some of the defects I spotted in my brand new apartment and submitted to be rectified by the contractors.

Cracks on edge of wall outside.

Cracks on beam outside.

Gap in between tiles and wall in one of the rooms.

Main door cannot fully close.

Saturday, September 18, 2004

I was at the new apartment again this afternoon to label the defective sections on the apartment and also to submit my claim defect form to the contractor. Hope they are able to rectify the defects quickly. I noticed the pool area is completed this visit. The pool has been filled with water so I guess OC could be obtained very soon.

Today is Saturday which means there are alot of job adverts in the papers as usual. I was going thru the job vacancy section over and over for like 3 or 4 times but could not find any jobs to my liking. Still determined, I surfed and logged on to jobstreet.com to browse the vacancies there. I applied for 2 jobs. One a merchandiser in Shah Alam and the second, for the position of Business Executive in an American corporation in Bayan Lepas. Once a while I like to just test out what I call my "marketability" and offer my elite skills for the benefit of other companies. ;)

Sometimes whether to change or not to change job is a very difficult decision. Don't think so? Well...if you change, will you get a better job or will it be worse than now? It's a tough decision but one just gotta take the risk and move on if the new job is not what we want it to be.

It's been quite some time since my last interview....err....the last one ended me with my current job. That was almost 2 and a half years ago. Perhaps, it's time once again for me to adjust my salary scale?

Sunday, September 12, 2004

Yesterday, I was at my new apartment taking some photos and checking it out to see if there are any defects that I could submit to the developer for claims. I am posting some pics never before seen by anyone on my apartment.

This is the front view. Not completed yet with still minor renovation work to be carried out later.

The corridor area.

The living room area.

The million dollar view from the 17th Floor.

The pool area almost done.

More photo blogs to share. I snapped a few parting pictures in the last few hours before leaving the city of life.

On the way to the airport, I took this picture of me holding hand with... I shall see her again in 2 month's time.

Finally, when we arrived at the airport. This is the departure hall.

Another view of the interior of the airport.

Bought a can of coffee but could not open. The lid broke la! Damnit!

His and hers. His or mine is the Nokia on the right. Hers is the Samsung. Well, actually both are hers. She was kind enough to give me her Nokia.

I still have more pics to be uploaded from my Hong Kong trip. Here are a few of them. It's been a wonderful trip and looking forward to the next one!

Times Square Shopping Complex in Hong Kong.

I promise this is the last picture on Avenue of Stars. The view is so incredible I just cannot get enough of it.

Property price in HK is super expensive. HKD3354 per sq foot or approx. RM1677 per sq foot! A 1000 sq feet apartment would cost more than RM1.6 million!

Never leave home without this Octopus card!

This is my passport. On the left is the immigration stamp when I went to Haadyai. On the right is from the Hong Kong immigration. Malaysian visitors are allowed to stay in HK for 90 days for social visit.

A couple hugging at night. Actually, the girl was crying.

Adult channels are available in the hotel where I stayed. This is the western adult channel. There is also Japanese and Chinese adult channels.

In case you are wondering... No, I did not subscribe the adult channels. This is only the preview.

Added more pics to share. Here are more pics taken from the Avenue of Stars.

This is the famous HK skyline. Picture taken in Kowloon.

Simply magnificient.

The Peak is the hill in the background.

This is part of the avenue of stars where people just relax and enjoy the view.

Hong Kong's famous Star Ferry. What a sight!

The infamous gangland Mongkok. I watched the movie "One nite in Mongkok" while flying back to Penang. "A mere 7 square kilometres wide, home to 280,000 and where some 300,000 illegal immigrants eke out a shadowy living" as quoted in Cathay Pacific's Discovery magazine in the Sept 2004 issue.

One of the most densely populated place in the world.

It's easy to get lost in the sea of pedestrian.

This is a typical news stand in Hong Kong. They sell many types of magazines.

The Hong Kong jockey club. Get your lucky Mark 6 numbers here. The HK version of Sports Toto.

I bought myself a mark 6 for 10 draws at HKD50.

Billboards are everywhere.

They are everywhere you look.

The advertisements and billboards are huge.

Internet kiosk available in Times Square Hong Kong.

This girl is reading my blog.

While in HK, I went to the Malaysian consulate to ask some questions. No, I wasn't asking about employment in HK though it had crossed my mind... The consulate is in Wan Chai. A business district in HK island. A very expensive district.

The Malaysia Building in busy Wan Chai district on 2nd Sept. Two days after Merdeka Day. I was there on 1st Sept but they were closed because the previous day was 31st Aug. They only work half day from Monday to Saturdays!

Window display of the consulate. Info on Malaysian trade and business can be obtained there.

Mega sale promotion. That's also my "guide" in HK. You can find an assortments of brochures promoting Malaysia ... from Tioman Island getaway to Kota Kinabalu.

I also visted the latest attraction in Hong Kong - Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Tourists and locals enjoying the magnificient view of HK island.

More tourists enjoying one of the best view of HK. The building on the left is the famous Hong Kong Convention Centre situated in Wan Chai.

Say cheese...Chinese tourists are a common sight.

I am a star! What tourists do when they come here.

Where Jet Li left his mark.

Who is Yeoh Choo Kheng? I only know Datuk Yeoh... Malaysia Boleh.

It's also a fabulous place to pak tor.

And now let's see some food...

Had pizza for dinner at the California Pizza Kitchen

We ordered the original BBQ Chicken Pizza

Hmm..what's this? Looks like wan tan?

Some pasta of course

These are some octopus balls I enjoyed for snack

Pork chop with curry sauce and steam rice for lunch for my "guide"

I had koay teow soup with chicken cutlet. Koay teow never tasted so good!

That's all for today. Surf in tomorrow for more updates.
